The Global economy in 2015

2014 was the year in which therecovery really took hold and not just in the UK and US, but insome of theEuropean economies hit hardest by the sovereign debtcrisis. Ireland, Spain and even Greece showed nascent signs of recovery.

However, the recenteconomic, political and social turmoil is weighing heavily on business leadersminds. Our research showed global business optimism droppingeight percentage points to net 35% in Q4. This is hardly disastrous this time last year, global business optimism stood at justnet 27%, for example but it does reflect well founded concerns about the unevenness ofthe global recovery.
