“Go global-- investing in Japan” seminar held in Beijing

On Jul 26, the “Go global- investing in Japan” seminar was held at the American Club in Beijing. It was jointly held by Grant Thornton China, China Mergers and Acquisitions Association, Japan External Trade Organization, Tokyo Stock Exchange, and Japan Yokohama MunicipalGovernment.

Huang Zhibin, national head of international business of Grant Thornton China, and Masashi Iwanaga, economic affairs ministry counselor of Japan Embassy in China attended the meeting and delivered the opening speech.

Pu Hui, Beijing regional director of Japan desk of Grant Thornton China, Akita Hideki, partner of Grant Thornton Japan, Iku Shimooka, partner of Grant Thornton Japan, Lloyd Liu,advisory partner of Grant Thornton China, and representatives from China Mergers and Acquisitions Association, Japan External Trade Organization, Tokyo Stock Exchange, and Japan Yokohama Municipal Government also gave speeches.



The seminar lasted four hours, during which guest speakers gave introductions about current capital market in Japan,listing requirements, and preferential policies. The speakers also highlighted tax issues based on their previous experiences that should be dealt with properly for transactions such as M&A and going public in Japan. Participants said the seminar offered practical and valuable guidance to companies who are investing or planning to invest in Japan.
