Government budget maps out plans to foster diversified development and measures to benefit various sectors

In the Hong Kong Government's 2015/16 Budget speech today, Financial Secretary John C.Tsang announced proposals for a wide range of relief measures for the Hong Kong citizens that calls for a budget of HK$34 billion and for initiatives tosupport the diversified development of society with the aim of maintaining the city's competitiveness and sustaining its growth. In view of Hong Kong's moderate economic growth of 2.3% in 2014, the Budget adhered to the principle of "living within one’s means" but showed flexibility in using public resources and responding to the various demands of society.
