Grant Thornton partners accompany CICPA leader visit BAIC Group

On June 11, Grant Thornton CEO Xu Hua and Grant Thornton partner Zheng Jianbiao accompanied Chen Yugui, vice president and secretary general of the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CICPA) to conduct field research at Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co., Ltd. (BAIC Group). The BAIC Group is one of China’s five major automotive groups, and is mainly engaged in vehicle manufacturing, parts manufacturing, automobile service trade, research and development, as well as reform and adjustment.

The secretary general visited the general assembly plant of Beijing Benz, listened to the introduction of the 56-year development history of BAIC given by Zhang Yong, the vice director of BAIC, and learnt the group’s achievements in integration of international technology with local operation. During the trip, leaders from CICPA had a better understanding on BAIC’s management strategy covering financial management, cost management, internal control,  auditing and service outsourcing of the automobile manufacturer, as well as its governance and business strategy. The higher international service capability and comprehensive service ability required for BAIC’s future development are also discussed during the visit.
